A fine quality Aesthetic Movement ‘Art Furniture’ cabinet, profusely decorated with carved wood panels of stylised flowers, embossed gilt foliate paper, turned galleries and pierced motifs.

A real work of art, and an exercise in showing what the craftsman was capable of.

This piece dates to around 1870 and was probably designed by Thomas Edward Collcutt and made by Collinson & Lock.

With key for cupboard. Splits into two sections for easy transport.

Condition:

In overall very good condition, with some age and use related wear, scratches and marks. Evidence of some old very localised woodworm in the top half at the back, which has been treated and is barely visible.

225 cm high x 158 cm wide x 52 cm deep
