A charismatic oil portrait of a seated Robert Strauss, seated in jacket and tie, holding his hat and his stick, by renowned royal portrait artist David Poole.

David Poole is former President of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and Chairman of the Federation of British Artists and Senior Lecturer at the Wimbledon School of Art which was where he had trained as an artist.

He has painted several members of the royal family, including The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Queen Mother, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Princess Margaret, Earl Mountbatten and the The Duke of Kent as well as distinguished members of the government, industry, commerce, medicine and the academic and legal professions.

Signed and dated Poole 1976.
